You'll Feel the Fire, but Don't Get Burned By the Flame

Get your 80's dancing shoes on today! From 1987 to 1990, Taylor Dayne had a nice run. She had eight songs that cracked the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at #12 or better during those three years. Here's one of those eight hits with the video that features a cool dog, some pigeons, a young married couple, an old fat man in his undies, and lots and lots of the very attractive then 27 year old Taylor Dayne with a wind machine in tow. From 1989, here is "With Every Beat of My Heart"...

"With Every Beat of My Heart" is a top-notch pop song. The story goes, Taylor Dayne's sophomore LP, "Can't Fight Fate" was ready for release, but Arista needed the right song to launch it. Clive Davis sent out the word, and the label got "With Every Beat of My Heart." It worked like a charm and spawned the the #1 hit, "Love Will Lead You Back."
