It's Janet shutting down the man in his attempt to get lucky in today's black and white video from 1987. You can't rush love. The good thing for Janet in this video is as long as she doesn't lose her earring she'll always be able to get into her house. She promises she'll be worth the wait. I think the dude dumped her at the end of the video. Maybe not. Here is Janet with "Let's Wait Awhile"...
Get ready to do "the Bucky" for today's video featuring the horn player as the artist for the song and Janet Jackson as merely the singer. Featuring "Little Janet" on lead vocals and that's got to be Wesley Snipes as Bucky the DJ right? Here is a quintessential 80's video and song produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. It's Herb Alpert with "Diamonds"...
This was a little bit of a departure at the time for Ms. Jackson at the time when this single was released in 1990 off of her 1989 blockbuster album "Rhythm Nation 1814." Personally, I loved the addition of a hard driving lead guitar played by Jellybean Johnson, and this concert video of the song was one of my favorites of hers. Here is Janet Jackson with a song she penned herself - "Black Cat"...
At 5'4", but 6'2" with the hair, our Janet Jackson June (The Excellent 80's Triple J month) concludes with her first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart... "When I Think of You"... I always loved the laugh towards the end of the song for some reason...
