Knight Rider was a popular American television series that ran between September 26, 1982, and August 8, 1986.

The series was broadcast on NBC and starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, a kind of modern-day "knight" who drove an advanced smart car with artificial intelligence. Conceived and produced by Glen A. Larson, the show was an instant hit and inspired a sub-genre of high-tech crimefighter series. "I wanted to do The Lone Ranger with a car", Larson said in The Last Great Ride. "Kind of a sci-fi thing, with the soul of a western."

To The Hoop, Ya'll

Basketball season is upon us, and I always have to pump this jam from the early 80'ss. One of my earliest favorite rap songs - Kurtis Blow rapping "Basketball." I like Magic, Bird, and Bernard King...

The Kurtis Blow hit, ‘Basketball’ is arguably, the most famous song about the sport in existence and it still timeless and popular today. He still works a crowd 20+ years later with that same hit according to various postings on youtube.com. 'Basketball' is heard at dozens of NBA games during half time each season and it was the theme music for ‘Like Mike’ a major studio film starring Lil Bow Wow released in 2002.

Living In Perfect Harmony

Recently voted lamest duet of all time by some publication in the U.K. But what the hell does the U.K. know about classic American 80's videos and music? I say nothing! It's not my favorite duet, but if you love it, feel free to sing along with Paul and Stevie. This video may be scary for some people (October theme creeping in), but I love Stevie's afro.. it's Ebony and Ivory...

80's Gameshow Television

Remember the 80's game show called Starcade where contestants battled it out against each other playing various video games? The show had the lamest host ever and some pretty ridiculous players and is just campy enough to be classic 80's television viewing. You can click here and watch many of the episodes.

80's Television

One of my most favorite short-lived sitcoms from the 80's... Jason Bateman and David Garrison (Norman Lamb from "Married With Children") star in "It's Your Move"... MTV's Nina Blackwood even makes a special guest appearance in the sequel...

"The Dregs of Humanity" episode
Many fans consider the two-part episode "The Dregs of Humanity" to be one of the classic moments of '80s television. [citation needed] In this episode, Matthew crafts the rise and fall of a band--The Dregs of Humanity--posing as their manager, booking them for his high school dance, selling them to MTV, the Palladium, and Rolling Stone magazine, and finally sending them to a watery grave over a cliff into the ocean--all the while never letting on that the "band" in fact consisted of four skeletons stolen from the biology lab.

It's the Halloween month, so we've got to go with some classic monster movies this month. Two Coreys and a Kiefer make for this classic vampire tale...

Loved the soundtrack to this movie as well. Here is the Lost Boys' theme (Cry Little Sister) by Gerard McMann...

I Wish That I Had Jessie's Girl

I couldn't wrap up "A Springfield September" without the biggest of his hits, right? Anybody named Jessie with a half decent looking girlfriend hated this song I guarantee it. Rick still performs it well live on stage even though he is in his 50's now.

The Wagon Roars into The Excellent 80's

Babies and teddie bears in this video... what? I thought this song was created specifically for my 8th grade girlfriend. I always felt bad for the old man at the end of the video (sniff, sniff), and man did Kevin Cronin have some hair! Yikes. One of the sappiest songs of the 80's, but I know you sang along to it just like I did.

We All Need...

...the Human Touch... Rick actually walks through the crowd while performing this song these days and instead of a bunch of 15-25 year old women screaming for him, it's a bunch of 35-45 year old women instead... Instead of getting up for school the next day, they're getting their kids up for school the next day. We all need it, and I need it to...
