More Christmas Commercials

I've always thought this Coke commercial and campaign was one of their best.  From 1980, they'd like to teach the world to sing...

Maybe you need a little chicken to go with that Coke...

Christmas Commercials

Happy Birthday Atari!

Atari turned 40 yesterday. For me, the Atari 2600 was my first gaming console and will always carry a special place in my heart. I still remember being totally jacked when Pac-Man made it's debut for Atari though I was slightly disappointed that it wasn't even close to the original arcade game. But, that didn't stop me from trying to conquer it along with the likes of Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, and Frogger. Here's a few awesome commercials for the system...

80's Christmas Commercials

For those of you that enjoyed those holiday commercials of the 80's, here are some of the best from then...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! The Excellent 80's is thankful for your continued viewership whether you've only been in here a few times or many times over the years. I found this little clip from Nickelodeon's "Thanksgiving Fest," but it's really just the commercials that came on. I love the BK's commercial and the Nintendo commercial and graphics are just outstanding...

Here's some more sweet 80's commercials sandwiched in the Garfield Thanksgiving special...

80's Christmas Commercials

Always one of my favorite 80's commercials around this time of year. Thank you Folgers.

And you can't go the whole Holiday season without some red and green M&M's... it's anti-American if you do!

And there's nothing wrong with a little Popeye's Chicken this time of year either!

80's Video Games Commercials

Every Tuesday throughout the month of September, I'm going to bring you some sweet video games commercials from the 80s... I don't know about you, but video games were a big part of my formative years growing up... it was a simpler, less complicated time with a few buttons, maybe a knob or two, or a joystick... now days, you have 37 different buttons with 96 different options to choose from in 237 different modes... I'm trying to keep up! Anyway, hope you enjoy the flashback to some of these great games... here are some of my favorite video games on the Atari 2600 from back in the day... I had all of these games at one time...

Ms. Pac-Man was a definite step up from Pac-Man on the Atari 2600...

Mario sure has come a long way over the years...

Frogger and The Empire Strikes Back video games...

I loved Pitfall...

I've Got Pac-Man Fever

Fake to the left and move to the right because Pokey's too slow and Blinky's out of sight... I wish there was a good video of these guys doing this song, but I couldn't find one, so you'll just have to settle for the audio track of "Pac-Man Fever" by Buckner & Garcia...
