Today's live performance from 1980 features Sammy Hagar and a song he wrote that ended up being more popular and a bigger hit in 1981 when it was re-recorded by a youngster named Rick Springfield.  Rick's version became a top 10 hit post "Jessie's Girl," but like me, not a lot of people realize it is a Sammy Hagar song written in 1978.  Here is Sammy singing "I've Done Everything For You"...

I Don't Mind When You Act Your Age

The Red Rocker is 63 and still going strong as his group Chickenfoot is set to release their second album soon. Back in 1982 Sammy was pumping out some good solo stuff like this hit off of his "Three Lock Box" album. If he really is 63, he would have been about 32 or 33 in this video. One Foot On the Brake, and One on the Gas

Back in 1984 Sammy Hagar was wearing one horrible looking outfit in this video, but he was making his message known - it's ok to resist arrest, get in the judge's face and run away from the police if you have a much faster vehicle... the Red Rocker did put on some sweet athletic moves in this video though, especially when he throws the guitar up in the air and runs up the wall doing a flip and catching his guitar as it comes back down, and also his long jump over the judges' bench... this song is definitely outdated since 55 mph speed limits are pretty rare these days but anytime I find myself in one, I like to think that me and Sammmy "Can't Drive 55"...
